Hi, the disk f#drive is going like the clappers and this Pc takes about 20 minutes to settle down before its usable. I've followed your instructions but would really appreciate some help to tidy up what I hope are the last infections.

Attached are btiscan runkeys and newfiles.

I'll post a follow on with the others, thanks.

    Col.

You don't have malware problems! You have problems due to the choices of what you installed on your PC.

Did you problems begin around Oct 5 th which appears to be the date that you installed Norton Internet Security?

Hiya Chas and thanks for the input.

Well it was about this time that the subscription was renewed and extended:-(

I reckon that you're going to advise me to uninstall NIS. So I'll give that a go and get a nice replacement from AVG.:)

Well yes it is worth trying the experiment to uninstall it and then install and antivirus (like AVG), antispyware (like Windows Defender for blocking) and a firewall. All of these can be found for free in the below link:

How to Protect yourself from malware!

Make sure to download all the tools you need first.
Then uninstall NIS and make sure it is all gone and then install the replacements.

Let me know if this improves your situtation!

    Hi Chas,

A rainy day here in Kent. UK.

And.....I've got my system performance back after uninstalling NIS:)
I noticed that the Yahoo Spyware version was a huge 75Mb install - Huh?

On running a "final" check with AVG Antispyware, it reckons that Tribalfusion, Atdmt and Mediaplex are still present. Is there maybe something driving them to re-install that I've not yet dealt with?

Your input, as usual, gratefully received, K.

I removed some spurious registry commands in Hijack This and ran 2 clean sweeps of AVGAS. It's all looking good now:) :)

    Thanks again for your asistance,

    Krebbin.

Another witness to why you see us recommending this! ;)

They are just cookies and nothing to be concerned with. You will see Tribalfusion here on MGs! See step 11 in the How to protect thread.

    Surf safely!
