HP Laptop Help with failure to start

Hey everyone, well last night I was browsing over the internet until out of nowhere chrome said something about Jim he's down??? Any way whenever I try to start up my computer now, it shows a box saying start up repair is recommended , so after i run start up repair , (which doesnt do anything) my computer says its missing %hp. So I cant start up my computer now or even sign in. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I have no idea what to do. Thank you

 

Throw you question at the Malware Forum. The Jim he's down, is just Chrome crashing, that shouldn't have anything to do with your system not starting.

Have you tried pressing F8 on boot? It's supposed to get you to the Advanced Boot Options Menu. From there you can try the last know good configuration or try some repairs...

 

Try and see if it boots into Safe Mode, or even better, Safe Mode with networking. Then try and Chrome, and see what happens.
