I have an HP Pavilion laptop and the screen dims everytime it is plugged into AC power, which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me since logically wouldn't it want to conserve energy while on battery power? In any case, I have gone through all the settings and can't seem to find any place to change this. I have manually set the brightness all the way to the maximum but I still can barely see anything!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The notebook remembers separate brightness levels for AC and battery states. Use Fn-F7 and Fn-F8 to adjust that.

Boy do I feel stupid! I thought I had adjusted the brightness setting already but I guess I had just done it in battery mode. Doh. Thanks much.
