HP Mini 2133 Running Linux

Hi, I have a New out of the box HP mini 2133. When it was first turned on the user followed the directions for getting started, at some point throughout the process she was asked to enter a password but never a username. Now when you start the computer it comes to a login screen asking for a username and we don't know what to put. I have tried "Admin", "Administrator" and both of those usernames in all lowercase. I have zero experience with linux does anybody have any ideas?

have you tried leaving it blank? or maybe she put the password in for the username?

 

Yes we have tried leaving it blank. I did try using her password in the username field and it did not work.

 

which distro of linux is it? (ubuntu, fedora, etc.. )

 

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP1 10.1-0

have you tried root and root password ?

 

yeah, it sounds as if he prolly wouldn't know how to do that...unforutunately i know what that means, but i am not the person to tell you how to do that....i would imagine that you're gonna need a bootable live linux cd (you can get it from SUSE's website) to correct your problem...but like i said, i'm not real savvy with linux...

 

just in case then,

in the username type root
in the password type your root password

it may work
