HP not seeing HDD

    I have a HP pavilion dv1000 that will not boot to any HDD. I tested all the drivers beforehand, Windows setup is not finding it too. IDE HDD w/ the little convert..... from - to ¬. any idles ?? thanks

    What is showing up on the POST screen? Can you get into the BIOS? If so, is the hard drive present in the BIOS?

    If it won't POST, does the computer turn on? If it is getting power, I would take it in and get the motherboard tested.
