Can any one tell me if i can max out my Motherboards ram or any type of upgrade i can do.

    HP Pavilion 17-g121wm

Right now i have a total of 8 gigs installed.

I think i can go a step further to 16 gigs of ram but i am not sure.

Check your manual. Or visit www.Crucial.com and see what its wizard says. It looks like it does support 2 x 8GB but note 8GB is generally considered the "sweet spot". That is, less RAM and you see a drop in performance, more RAM and the gains will be marginal at best - if noticeable at all.

You might do better finding noticeable performance gains by migrating to a SSD. Upgrading graphics often provides significant gains, but often requires a bigger PSU to support the more power hungry graphics card.

Much depends on what you do with this computer.

"Memory slot not user accessible." Odd. I wonder if it because you have to move ducts or other parts out of the way and they figure normal users cannot do that? Or if because a graphics card or some other component covers the slot so another memory stick will not fit.

The specs here suggest 8GB only.

One thing about Crucial, they guarantee compatibility if you buy their recommended RAM from them.

Well the CPU is a APU so it acts like a GPU even with a GPU added.

I was thinking it can go above 8 gigs of ram.But i am not sure about this one.Even though the site HP site says 8 gigs which only 7.54 is usable which i don't understand way that is.

Even though i installed Windows 10 pro 64bit.

That is the incorrect hard drive be cause i had to install a new one.Be cause the one that came with the laptop crashed for no reason.

You have integrated graphics. Even though it is integrated with the CPU, because the CPU (or APU here) does not have integrated RAM, a chunk of system RAM is snagged and used for graphics processing. So that your 7.54GB is normal.

And according to Crucial (if you View All) it will support 2 x 8GB for $78. If you really want 16GB, I would send a note off to Crucial with a link to your HP specs showing only 8G and ask Crucial to verify. If they still claim it will support 16GB, then again, if you buy directly from them, they guarantee it will work.

Yeah, that's it. But again, I would contact Crucial and have them verify - so you are not stuck with return postage and the inconvenience.
