HP Pavillion a305w 3D card help???

Hi. I am having a problem w/ my geforce2 mx200 card, & I guess it must be the card, because I have spent a week trying to fix it, trying everything I can & it's still screwed up. My question is:
I have an HP Pavillion a305w w/ 2.7 GHz proc., 248 MB Ram & a 32 GB hard drive. Does anyone else have a pc like this & using a video card successfully? The pc has an on board video card, which I have heard can cause problems. Which video card would you guys recommend? The main factor is price. I don't care if it's an older model, as my pc would never play something like HALO2 or Unreal Tournament anyway, but I have C&C Generals & with the display adapter I have now, the game plays slower, but playable, but the movies are oh my god so slow & choppy, & I can't play several of my games w/o a 3D card.

onboard video can always be a problem, so why not just go out and get a cheap radeon or geforce, most come with 3D accelerator now as standard, any pci card is usually better than onboard video.
