Ok so I just went out and bought an HP Pavillion Turion 64 laptop and brought it home to add it to my wireless network. I already have one desktop that is networked, no problem. I bring it home, set it up and enter all the router encryption stuff. (The router is a Netgear 802.11g). And it worked! I spent about 20 minutes downloading needed software then poof, the internet died. I saw it said it was still connected with excellent signal strength to the router. So I checked my desktop, connected to the wireless as well. It was working fine. So I tried restarting, reentering stuff, exc. No luck! So, I try hardwiring it through ethernet, but no luck. It says "limited access available" and wont connect. Any idea whats up? I've tried everything with this HP and no luck. It still says its connected and is getting a valid IP from the router.

I also tried hardwiring it directly from the broadband modem but still no luck.

Do you have a firewall running on the laptop? If so , try turning it off.
Does your desktop connect by wire or wireless?
Do you have a cordless phone in the room where the laptop is or where the router is. 2.4G phones will disrupt the signal on 802.11 B and G equipment.
