Hp Printer Assistant Has Vanished, And I Can’t Find A Download For It Anywhere.

The HP Printer Assistant shortcut on my desktop has stopped working. It’s supposed to open the Printer Setup & Software window.

Going into

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > HP ENVY 5530 Series Class Driver > (right-click) HP Printer Assistant > Create shortcut

gives this error:

Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\HP\HP ENVY 5530 series.exe'

And sure enough, HP ENVY 5530 series.exe is nowhere on the hard drive.

HP ENVY 5530 series.exe must be the Printer Assistant itself, rather than the printer driver, because the printer works fine.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver repeatedly, but to no avail.

I’ve searched online for somewhere where I can download HP ENVY 5530 series.exe, but had no luck.

When I DID have it installed on my machine, it had been installed along with printer driver by the printer driver installer, but now for some reason the installer no longer installs the Printer Assistant along with the printer driver.

It’s not really a big deal, but now just to open the printer’s window, I have to go in through Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.

Any suggestions?

Try right click, and choose create shortcut

I want a shortcut to HP Printer Assistant, the highlighted, first option in the menu shown in the photo.

 

Have you tried right clicking hp printer assistant- I just tried on my computer, from the printer folder, and it put a shortcut on my desktop
