Everytime I boot up, the HP Photosmart C6250 dialog box for install pops up in the final stage of an installation I did weeks ago. Each time, It puts the icon back on my desktop that I deleted weeks ago. This tells me it is indeed reinstalling everytime I boot up. I surfed the web, and others who tried remove and reinstall, and remove HP startup items, did so to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Hi

Had this type of issue a while back with a HP printer, the cause for me was that I have 2 accounts on the PC and I forgot to logon to the 2nd account to allow the installer to finish, so have to uninstall the driver, then re-install and logon to the other account, allow the installer to finish, reboot ( well worth re-installing and rebooting even if you dont have a 2nd account on the PC ) and then deleted any temp folders left from the installer and any icons I did not want. Not had the installer message back since.

So what Windows version you using?

Thanks for reply, sounds good. I am using Win XP Media Center. To remove the driver, do I just remove HP Photosmart 3.0 from Add Remove Programs?
And you are saying to logon to all Windows profiles for family members (4) to reinstall HP? Thanks again for assistance.

    Hi

Yes on uninstall, but you can just run the installer for HP again and that gives you the option to uninstall all software/drivers. Do all this from admins account.

Yes just logon to all the profiles for the family and no need to re-install HP software on each of the profiles as the admins account takes care of the main install, just the other accounts need the final parts of the install themselves ( mostly the icons and the system tray printer monitor ) , once all accounts done, reboot and then you should have no issues.
