HP printer/msword not cooperating!

Hi All,

Hmmm this could be a software problem, anyway I'll post here and be redirected if necessary.

I have a HP psc 750 which has been very reliable to date. Now "suddenly", it is messing up when printing from msword 2000 (XP sp2 home ed). Especially multi-page docs, it randomly leaves neat blocks of white space where there should be text. It's not the cartridge as I have replaced it twice. I have reinstalled the printer from scratch and updated the driver, no improvement. Most interestingly/frustratingly, it doesn't it seem to do it with any other software eg I turn a Msword doc into pdf and print from Adobe Reader without the same problems.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks Ralph but already have this driver installed. Any other suggestions?...anyone?

Take one page from Word 2000 and print it once, wait then print the same page a bit later. Are the white blocks in the same location?
If so, it would seem that the page is putting blocks to insert pictures or tables.
I don't remember if Word 2000 has it but in WordPerfect, you can turn on reveal codes and start looking at where the coding is wrong.
You might have to do that to perhaps figure out what in Word 2000 is using a strange code.
