HP Printer problems....HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

aight so I'm installing this HP printer all in one and I'd say about a minute after the installation packet gives me the prompt to connect my USB and I connect it I get something like this:

"encountered fatal error during installation"

with an ok button so I click ok and it reboots, I loose everything and have to reformat and all. can anyone help. This is a brand new printer

thats the printer, I'm at work right now but when it reboots it's just a blank black screen, nothing. Someone told me the same thing you did but with the software disk, it loads and then the next step it's telling me to hook up the USB (while the comp is on), checks it or whatever and then the problems occure.
