hp scanjet 4600 driver

I have a hp pavilion slimline s5-1114 that worked fine with my scanjet 4600 up until now. I checked HP's site and the only drivers available for the scanjet only go up to windows vista. I'm a bit of a novice, so I don't no much about this computer, but is there a way to make the scanjet driver compatible again?

Help would be greatly appreciated because I need this scanner for work, and can't afford a new one right now. Thank you.

 

Which version of Windows are you running now? 7? with SP1? 8?

I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you. I went to Microsoft for this information. It seems the 4600 was designed for Windows XP and while you may be able to find a driver for it somewhere HP has no intention of releasing updated software for it. Ah, planned obsolesence... rolleyes

 

Oh darn. That sucks since this scanner is handy for working with large drawings. I still have an old laptop that runs on Vista and HP still has drivers for that OS, so I'll hook it up to that until I can buy a new scanner.
