Hello everyone, I have a (very) old HP scanner that apparently even HP has given up on - not me, it works very well. The problem is it does not work with Windows 10, because HP does not offer support for the Scanjet G3010, meaning the HP Solution Center, the program which opperated the scanner, is no longer available for win10 and it does not have an alternative adapted for it. What do you think would be my best scanning software option, besides buying a new scanner? Thank you.

Try installing the Windows 8.1 drivers.

The download link ends in hp.com so I would expect this to be a genuine HP site.

If you read About us, it is a blog site and "We only index and link to the website source provided by the official website of the driver.."
So they don't provide the driver, they actually link you to the official site.
It would be safe to download because the download is not coming from the blog site.

HP does not provide a Windows 10 driver for the G3010.

Yes that's why Virginia suggested trying the 8.1 driver and I posted if that doesn't work, Hammrick, a paid program, has a driver for the exact model of printer the OP owns.
He/she will have to decide if spending $50 for a program is better or worse than spending money for a new all-in-one device.

I suggested that in the first reply to this thread. :p Post #2.

FWIW... I will not install a third-party driver. And I'll never pay for drivers.

Hopefully installing the Windows 8.1 driver using compatibility mode (if installing normal mode didn’t work) will be fine.
No I wouldn’t purchase a driver either, especially if there’s no guarantee it would work.
