HSP56 Micromodem

    Hi!

    I have a PCTEL HSP56 PCI Modem.(comes up as a HSP56 Micromodem in XP)

    I am using XP and I currently have to use an external modem to access the web. Whenever I try to connect using the PCTEL one, it clicks 3 times and then it will freeze, forcing me to reboot.

    Any1 knows what's wrong?

    Driver problem, most likely. Many HSP modems are not compatible in XP. Did you upgrade to XP?

    Had the same problem with my mates PC a few months back, looked for ages and tried dozens of drivers before I found one that worked. Can't put my hands on it at the moment give me 24 hours and I'll try and find a copy of the driver that worked on his. :) He was using XP as well, it seems to be temperamental with that modem.
