I bought a three use license for Office 2010. I used one for my desktop and one for my laptop. Then I had to rebuild my laptop a few weeks ago and used what I am guessing the third license on the new rebuild.

I could never get my Outlook to work correctly, got all kinds of wacky alerts, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall Office from scratch in order to get Outlook to work correctly.

So after the uninstall, I put the Office disk in the drive, and it does not spin. No icon shows up.

So, what is my next step? Did I actually use up all my licenses even though it is on the same machine?

Your license count has nothing to do with the CD not spinning up.
Can you click on the CD under Computer and will it read the disk?
You can run the setup without a key and it will give you a thirty day trail.
Call MS and tell then you have to reload your PC and they'll give you another activation..usually.

Bought a new laptop and was able to use my product number for a full Office.

You are right. The CD drive was toast. It wouldn't play a music CD either. I am keeping the old laptop for my grandsons to play games online.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
