An icon appears on my icon tray, and it says my computer is infected. When I click on it, it sends me to this website and asks me to download software:

    http://spyaxe.com/?ref=100018

I obviously dont do it. I downloaded all the neccesary software to remove spyware (hijack this, spybot-search and destroy, adaware, etc, etc). I unplugged my internet cable, restarted my computer in safe mode, and run all the software, but none of them can get rid of this issue. Even when I rstart my computer in safe mode, the icon appears on my icon tray. There is no way I can get rid of it. I even tried ending the process through "Windows Task Manager", but once I end it, a window appears saying that the system will shut down in 60 secs.

    ANY ADVICE?

    THANKS!

    I attach the hijackthis log:

    Please download Spy Sweeper

    • It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
    • Once the definitions are installed, click Options on the left side.
    • Click the Sweep Options tab.
    • Under What to Sweep please put a check next to the following:

      • Sweep All User Accounts
      • Enable Direct Disk Sweeping
      • Sweep Contents of Compressed Files
      • Sweep for Rootkits
      • Please UNCHECK Do not Sweep System Restore Folder.
    • Click Sweep Now on the left side.
    • Click the Start button.
    • When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
    • Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
    • It will remove all of the items found.
    • Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
    • Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
    • Paste the contents of the session log you copied into notepad and save it as spysweeper.txt and attach it to your next post along with a fresh HJT log.

    Hey man,

I followed the instructions and ran the program in safe mode and internet cables disconnected. It did not work. The icon appears in my computer even in safe mode. When I restart the computer, a program called "spyaxe" is installed in my computer. No programs can get rid of this icon because it is always running in icon tray. Here it is the HJT log... I would really appreciate more suggestions 'cause this is making me nervoius

BJ requested that you attach the log from Spy Sweeper. He did not request a HijackThis log. Please do not post HJT logs inline. Please follow the directions in the below thread to properly attach HJT logs when they are requested.

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Your log also shows remnants from a SmitFraud infection. I would recommend you also run:

    Smitfraud and PSGuard Removal

Then make sure you attach the Spy Sweeper log BJ requested and also the smitfiles.txt log from the above.

Sorry guys for posting logs without your permission. Now, I am having lots of trouble with spy sweeper. After I install the software and try to run it, I get the following error:

"spy sweeper has detected a corrupted version of this trial. It either did not install completely or the trial protection has been damaged". I tried reinstalling the software several times, but the problem was not solved.

I downloaded the file from several locations and I always encounter the same mistake. Any advice?

I attach the log for smitRem

    Thanks,

Okay SmitRem fixed a few problems.

Based on what you said in message # 3, it appeared that you had already run SpySweeper. Did it run correctly the first time? If not, you should have indicated that in message # 3.

Uninstall SpySweeper, reboot, then reinstall. Then run a new scan. Make sure you only use the file downloaded from Majorgeeks in the link BJ gave to you.
