Well, since my hubby was not going to be home tonight, I decided to run the R&R on his computer to be sure nothing was transferred from mine. (& well, frankly, it needed it... imho.) & Glad I did, because SAS found a TROJAN on a couple drives. (He has a total of 3 fixed drives.)

Anyway... here are the logs (& yep, I followed the R&R to a T! ... Learned my lesson, I tell ya!))

I'm very interested to see what you think of his logs!! :-D

I'll be waiting, patiently this time, for your reply! :cool

btw... when I ran RootRepeal, it froze during the scan. Had to have windows shut it down. Do you need me to try that again?

& When SAS was removing the Trojan (in 5 different areas of 2 of the 3 hdd's, it popped up a run time error)... but I was able to find the log & it's attached. Do you need that ran again too?

P.S. Is errordoctorsetup.exe an actual Trojan, or is it one of them "fake" ones that some products "find" to get you to buy their software to "fix & repair"?? I tried to look up info on it but I was getting mixed info. So, I just was curious.

    Thanks again :wave

Other than what SAS removed, they are clean.

Its fake ware and junk ware. See this: http://www.superadblocker.com/definition/errordoctorsetup/

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    3. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

WOW, I'm surprised! Mainly because after I did all that, Avast found many infections. (But I also had it scan archived files too.) & The one that really caught my eye was titled "Nutcracker Family"

I know, you didn't say for us to run the Anti-Spyware... it's just it popped up for it's daily scan & so, I changed it from standard to thorough.

I'm glad to hear that his logs are clean! Now, I just need to figure out why Avast was finding stuff even SAS didn't find.

Any suggestions of what I should do now? (Meaning because of what Avast found AFTER doing all the R&R instructions.)

    Thanks :)

Unless you provide a log on what it found, the only comments I can make are:
    • Avast has lots of false positive issues
    • did you cleanup all quaratines and toggle System Restore as requested so that Avast would not just be detecting these?
I don't know what you are referring to.
