Hulk'in Limeade Stand for Celiac Charity - turn stuff on & off with 3 live webcams

    Last year I did a lemonade stand with my kids (and the HULK!) and we had a ton of fun.

    So this year, I thought I'd take it up a notch and setup three webcams so you can view the action, plus use X10 controls to turn stuff on & off. And I'm doing it as a charity fundraiser for Celiac Disease - this is something my kids have, so it's personal for me.

    We won't be actually making and selling Lemonade ^H^H^H^H^H^H Limeade (with Tequila shots for the big kids) until next Saturday, June 10th ... but I have the webcam streaming now with a "funky" setup in my basement where you can control things ... so I'd appreciate any thoughts/suggestions on the layout, AJAX controls, Lemonade Blog, etc.

    Yea, I know it's a bit cramped on 1024x768 resolution ... but I like the large images so I don't see a way around that - for those on 1280x1024, it should look fine.

    P.S. There's some load balancing between two web servers and I'm using mod_perl, so it should be fairly scalable.

    Good Luck with this years LimeONade stall, the Tequila ones sound nifty... oh for a StarTrek transporter beam thingy about now!


    as for the Blog, pop some pics of Limes and Glasses with limes in, into the background to make the page look topical.

    Was setting up some signage along with some floodlights - figured it might be fun to let people turn those on and off tonight ... ;-)

    P.S. As noted on the page, temperature here is 84 degrees ... but feels about 10 more ... it's HOT out there!

    PPS. Halo: I added a customized cursor ... good idea on tossing some limes and stuff as background images - let me think about that - thanx for the suggestion.
