hurt my hand today on a mower

i was helping a friend today with his riding mower and when he got it started i was checking out the front wheels. he released the break and the front of the mower hit my leg making me fall on the motor and my right hand landed right on the Flywheel. messed it up real bad can not even move it from the pain. (its takin me 20mins just to type this because of it) my fingers onthat hand will not stay still got about 10 holes in my hand and fingers. i got blood lines all over my hand Under the skin!!! i dont know what to do i cant play my games or work on my 3-wheelers or truck.! all i can do is watch tv and movies. thinking about drinking away the pain But all i got is Bud light http://www.planet-evc.net/IPB2/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif . i am just very glad it did not remove my hand or break any bones http://www.planet-evc.net/IPB2/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

 

If you have not gone to the doctor yet, you really should. You could of done nerve damage, or even damaged your hand to the point that you may not get full use of it again.

 

Blood lines under the skin may be blood poisoning. If they start tracking up your arm, get medical attention before they get to your lymph nodes. Don't ignore it or wait 'til tomorrow.

 

Dang guy, sounds like a close call other than the fact you got nailed. I'm thinking of the unfortunate tendency for mowers to remove body parts. Its times like this you need something better, if you have a doc I'd get some good drugs.

Sorry to hear of your accident. I just wanna echo what the others have said...seek some medical advice. A small bill now could avoid a much larger bill later, if money is a concern.

 

Yeah, see the Doc. A.S.A.P. Bill's right about could be the beginnings of blood poisoning. You will need x-rays and nerves checked.

 

a bill is no problem for me the gov pays the bill. i think the blood lines are just bruses (sp?) because they are not moving and are shaped like the fins on the flywheel. i can move my hand no problem just pain when i do and i think thats because my hand got turned 180* when it laned on the flywheel. my hand should be healed in a week my body is fast like that and the docs dont know why because they can put me on meds and the meds have no affect (sp?) after afew days so the meds become usless in less thin aweek. i have always healed fast. but i almost pasted out from the pain when it first happen. when it happen i had to drive home (about a mile) with a stick. Now thats hard lol

 

I hate to be the stick in the mud, however prevention is better than the cure!
If anyone is attempting an ignition re-start on a vehicle, 'checking out the front wheels', is not an acceptable clearance tolerance!

Well, keep a close eye on those blood lines at the very least. If they grow AT ALL, see a doc pronto. Blood poisoning is no joke, "fast healer" or not.

If you got your hand spun 180 degrees, you may have sprained your wrist too, or possibly broken a bone. Bones in hands & feet can break and you not realize it for a while, thinking it's just spained. May need a bandage to support that for a while, but I wouldn't cover anything up until your sure your "blood lines" are just bruises. An x-ray wouldn't be out of place either.
