    Hello
    I have a Dell XPS 8300 x 64, 3.30 GHz, Win 10 Pro.
With Speccy I see I have hyperthreading but it is disabled.
I have gone through my BIOS via F2 thoroughly and cannot find where to enable it or even find it.
I have clicked every item in the BIOS. I also looked at Windows 'features' next to programs and features.
Where else can I look to enable this feature?
    Thank you

    Hi Peter

Open Task Manager and in Performance click CPU and in the info at the bottom how many Cores and Logical Processors do you have listed

I have with my i7 4 Cores and 8 Logical Processors so the Logical Processors are the Hyperthreading part, so if you see for eg. 2 Cores and each core may have 2 threads so you see 4 Logical Processors. Can try http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/cpu_z.html as well to check.

    Hi David
I hope you can see the four entries. It is a large as I could make it, to be allowed to upload. I guess it is possible to have hyperthreading without it actually saying so - or at least I hope in this case.
    Thank you for replying.
    Regards,
    Peter

    David
I thought the sniping tool would give you a better view.
It is redundant as you have all ready confirmed that I have hyperthreading.
    I hope it works.

I am curious if your link gives more or less information than Belarc Advisor and Speccy?

    Hi Peter

That app CPUZ does give a little better info on CPU related things but not a general overall PC kinda info.

Personally I tend to use a the commercial AIDA64

Belarc and just my personal is that its messy data in layout, its all there mind.
Speccy is laid out well and does in CPU give you Cores and Threads info.

HWinfo is comprehensive but a messy huge amount of data like Belarc but its good.

    >>I tried to use your referral link but it was a zip file and I did not know what to do. There were 4 files inside and I looked for a setup or install but could not find one.

There should be 5 files inside, like this
    http://www.walagata.com/w/perk/HWINFO.jpg
just click the exe - it doesn't get installed.
If you can't see the extensions, then look for the 207kb file and click on it.

I clicked on it and the smart screen filter would not allow it to run.
I could disable the filter but for 2 weeks it has not flagged anything so I will take a pass. Thank you both for the information though. I have Speccy which is pretty thorough.

    Hi Peter

To get around Smart Filter ad hoc basis, just click below the top text "more info" and then Run Anyway.

Just run HWinfo on Win10 and its not compatible, so as an older app, then not one I will suggest at present on Win10 PCs,

Speccy is fine, good simple laid out info

When Speccy is expanded it really does give a lot of information.
I will do away with Belarc and use just Speccy.
I understand your post and thank you, David.
