I am stuck in safe mode. AVG scan shows 11 infections. I am attaching the AVG scan results. I tried Smitfraudfix in safe mode, but no use.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    Thanks bjgarrick.

I am following instructions from Run & Read ME First Malware Removal Guide.

    No suspicious programs are running.

I am not able to perform Sun Java update. I have Java(TM) 6 Update 7. I am getting windows installer service could not be accessed. Is this because I am in safe mode?

Msconfig is in normal startup mode.

I ran cccleaner in Admin account. I have one more account on laptop for which I do not have password. I got this laptop from my company and has an account by somebody before me.

    Please suggest further steps.

    Thanks.

Yes, you are getting the error because you are in Safe Mode.

You need to continue with the READ ME, run all of the programs and attach all requested logs.

Also, if the computer belongs to you, then you can delete the other user account from the Administrator account. Only do this if you own the computer now, if it's just a work computer I would get permission from the boss man before deleting anything.
