i am new at this

i must admit i am new at this. But i have followed the instructions on the virus support forum and still no luck!

Norton detected 2 infections a trojon on kill.exe (C:WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\mod.exe) and a Backdoor.Usirf in runbatch.exe (C:WINDOWS\sdgddgs.exe). I have had them for a few months but have not been able to remove them after following all the instructions on the website too. Have also tried searching for them in order to remove manually but they are so stubborn!

Even before this everytime i turn on the computer i get a pop-up for servicesnt.exe and FireDeamon.EXE saying they have encoutered a problem and have to close... i dont know if the 2 could be connected?

 

Please follow steps bellow:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
