I am proud

I just became a Major Geeks PFC! I am sending Guinness and kudos out to all the Major Geeks that have helped me with my tough, not so tough, maybe ridiculous problems, but have above all welcomed and instructed me. I REALLY enjoy this site, I rely on it, and consequently have a much greater time with my computer- I'm the type of gal that won't call a plumber* or carpenter cause I know I can do it myself, and really enjoy it, so I love doing my 'puter figuring. It's also given me the confidence to decide to pursue some schooling in computers cause, I am GOOD at it. And I ENJOY it- to me that's the ideal job description. So it's kind of cool to feel welcome in this site, and advance by sharing my questions and acquiring your help and knowledge. I have WICKED thanks to the posters who figured out the Sanitarium game glitches- been wanting to play that for ages, and just couldn't get it to go- Looking forward to a sit down with it this weekend.

Gotta qualify this- on one bored day at the office, I went into Major Geeks games, and searched on Sanitarium- the solutions posted there addressed the stupid problem I was having, ie, when I am in the initial part of the game, and I get to that stupid annoying statue, my game goes all pixels and freezes up- the descriptions in the game fixes were directly to that and said they had fixed it. I haven't had the chance to try it, that's my thing for this weekend (OH? It's summer? There's a beach? OH CRAP the game is on!!!!!!) I'll give it a good try, and when I research, I'll copy the url to the thread for you.

I DID work that day....really. Eradicating computer glitches, no matter what form, can ONLY be good for the health of my employers computer environment. OK-THAT deserves a standing ov. That was a truly superb, intricate piece of BS justification.LOL

 

Ok troops, back off, stand down light the smoking lantern- there is enough Guinness for EVERYONE, I REPEAT, ENOUGH. Cold for the Yanks, warm for the Brits- also just bought a new little Rotisserie, so I DARE you to compete with my North Carolina style BBQ, now... we are a small platoon here, so don't expect it to be long-smoked for hours, but WHO ARE YOU KIDDING? You'll have it stripped down to bones in minutes. Bring your own napkins. I do "po' folks" or "dormitory" or what have you napkins- toilet paper and your sleeve.rolleyes However, there is a nice cool river across the street, and that's probably all the napkin we will need- bring your own floats for tubing! (and an extra for the Guinness stash)

OK, Fred has dibs. But WHAT are you going to do in return hmmmm? Cole Slaw? Potato wedges? With Extra catchup? You have the key to the secret Guinness stash if you can deliver non-smooshy potato wedges. There MUST be a proper crunchy to tasty seasoning to internal softyness balance. This is a HARD assignment, partner- I would suggest KFC transferred to a nondescript brown paper bag (styrofoam makes things smushy) The ball is in YOUR court, my friend...:cool

 

It is really kind of sad that I KNOW for a FACT that styrofoam makes potato wedges smooshy (and it is DEATH on sweet potato fries!) Seriously majors, do you think instead of winning that SWEEEEET Asus eee on ebay tonight, maybe I should have gone for the Stamina Rowing machine??? I know you are ALL to good to answer thatrolleyes.... or maybe like me, we are speedialing the takeaway? I DO believe that there is calorie loss directly related to keyboard strokes...or at least there is ennui loss directly related to 'puter proficiency. Well, If I was bringing tators, I would bake them with some seasonings. I do work at a wine shop, perhaps a nice vino vherdi or a Vouvray would go well with the heat we are having here...

I am very down with the Vouvray. I tried a Shiraz tonight, and it just was too heavy with the humidity, and a bit too woody - an inexpensive little California that was rated well- I don't usually do red. We are not so bad here , for the first time in two weeks, dipped below 80, the humidity has gotten handleable (who am I to complain, we can step right into a lake or river anywhere we turn!)- we have had the relief of constant thunder storms, but that actually brought a deadly little twister, something VERY unaccustomed in NH- tell ya what, you do the taters, I will go up the ridge and buy some very sweet, milky home grown corn, fresh picked, put that right on the coals, we are all very happy! OHH don't you love the tastes of summer! Blueberries everywhere! Bring your bucket! A good breakfast- our native yogurt "Stonyfield Farms" with a layer of fresh cream on the top, and native high bush blueberries (the big suckers) mixed right in. Unfortunately I still want the hash and eggs along side, with good Maine taters fried up with onions. Will I EVER learn....

LOL- Your secret is safe- how about either a nice homemade lemonade, or a big pitcher of Sangria with lemons, oranges, peaches, etc. Fred_G works at a wine shop, we can buy the wine from him.
But, alas, it is Wednesday morning now, so we'll have to put our parties aside for another day.... :cry

I don't like Guinness, but I would definitely take an ice cold Miller Lite

Isn't it cool how things like that tie together? Well, the night I got PFC I won an auction for a very sweet buffed up Asus eee, which is what led me to the forums that night. I was so sneaky. Watched it for days, then kept myself under RIGID control, swooped in with 3 minutes left, engaged in a minor bidding skirmish, and walked away with the prize! AHHHH I LOVE The smell of ebay in the morning!!!:major:cool
