Okay, so I'm in the middle of getting rid of a spyware infection, and I would really love to back up all my iTunes files. Losing 716 songs would be... unfortunate. So I've got all the disks necessary to do so, but I have one, huge problem - iTunes won't let me create the CD's. I insert the CD, go to the playlist [or just my library] that I want to copy, and it tells me I need more CD's. Well, it's obvious that I'll need more CD's to copy my library, but certainly not my 20 song playlists. They all fit the specs of the blank CD's I'm using. So, I figure, what the hell - I'll just use one extra CD. Problem is, it doesn't do anything when I say 'Audio CD's'. Nothing at all. Which is just wonderful. And I can't use any other applications to copy it, [not to my knowledge, anyway] because of iTunes's fierce protection of it's songs; they'll copy, but simply won't play. Can anyone help me out here? And sorry if this is the wrong forum; I believe this is my third post at this site, so I'm still learning :\

Did you try saving them as data CDs. If I'm not mistaken iTunes has the option of burning audio CDs or data CD/DVDs. You should be able to transfer the protected AAC files directly to a disc using any burning program without any problem. The DRM will prevent them from being played in an unlicensed machine only. You can sill copy them. I would also recommend that you deactivate your computer's iTunes software until you are sure it is safe. You can always reactivate the licenses later.
