I basically distroyed a mac

The other day I was trying to perform a clean install on my mac OS 10.1.4 and I did it incorrectly and actually deleted some aparently essential files. Now I have been trying to boot from a software restore and then the OS installation disk and I get errors everytime and then my computer freezes up...any ideas

 

First you should post with the actual errors you get.

That was a verbatim error message and I have no idea what I need to do to fix it. I have tried booting from a software restore cd and the OS installation disk and neither has worked...so if you have any suggestions I would very much appreciate your input no matter how insignificant you think your suggestion is.

 

You're not using the same CD that came with that computer. You have to re-install the same OS version, bundle first.
