I can't believe PHP 5.0...

is going to be OOP... God damn it, why is everything going OO, it's that not that fux0ring great.... *sigh*

There's no reason not to program OO.

 

I just hate it, I like everything being function based, it's like "home" for me... I hate having object.method() or object.blah.property, I just like doing blah($blah); Call me a freak but it gives me a nice feeling

OO rulz! Though i do see PHP turning into ASP if that happens. But it will means ill be able to make my own objects for my server hehe, how useful!

 

I'm doing Assembly right now, I wish I had Line numbers, I have offsets that change everytime the segment is reloaded Line numbers would be godlike!

 

I'm not sure I see this as a bad thing. Shouldn't PHP be able to do everything ASP does?

yes but (IMO) ASP is slow and bloatey, if it had the functionality of ASP withouth the sluggishness, that is a good thing!

If ASP had more DB support, and was less Windows/IIS dependant, and it didn't have all the crap with security that comes with MS products, it'd all right, but I like playing with exocitic DBs', on different platforms... So not really an option for me...

The only real drawback of ASP vs PHP at the moment is that ASP is MS-only. Beyond that the differences are primarily programming style based (C vs Basic).
