In fact I can, right now, connect OK to Google. But an hour from now that could change. This is an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) issue for sure.

I originally posted this as an issue in the malware forum and it turned out that I did not have any malware infections. I did have a ton of temp files that were cleaned out and, to my surprise, when I finished that process the access to https://www.google.com (and many other previously locked out https sites) returned.

I quietly gave yet another thanks to MajorGeeks.

But alas, when I installed the most recent update to iTunes the problem returned. Uninstalling iTunes and the problem disappeared. Re-installing iTunes and, amazingly, https access was still OK - for awhile. And then it was bad again.

So I unistalled iTunes and right now that is where I stand. No iTunes but https access if fine.

Any ideas on the cause of this problem would be appreciated. It is very likely to be related to iTunes but I suppose there are other possibilities.

    Thanks in advance.
