I did it. Although i said that my audio card is not High Definition, i'll try that driver

I tried to install it but it doesn't work. Probably, this is because my audio card is not High Definition. Please can anyone else help me??:cry

I don't really understand why you don't have HD audio. Foxconn says that motherboard does.
Could you attach a full copy of your Everest report?

Do you remember any specifics about your sound, like maybe the name? (Realtek, Conexant, Analog Devices AD188x, etc.)

Is you PC a home build or an OEM like Dell, Gateway, HP, etc.)?

I remember SOUNDMAX was the kind of control panel i used...
However...no my PC is not a OEM.

    Below are the copies.

I still am kind of at a loss for info, so I am taking a stab in the dark based on some bits of info I found.
This is a SoundMax driver for Intel boards. (You do have an Intel chipset and some of the Foxconns use ADI sound)

It says driver not found and so it doesn't make me finish the setup.
However i said i used Soundmax as control panel, not as driver...please keep you helping me

Without a positive ID on your board, we could try all kinds of drivers.
Shut down and unplug your PC, then open up your case, and look at your motherboard for a model / ID number.
Don't touch anything inside, unless you're grounded.

Maybe try this driver and see if it works.... I'm pretty sure it's a .RAR file so you'll need a good file 'unzipper' like TUGzip (a great freeware archiver/zipper/unzipper/compression program) to extract the files. Try installing it thru the Device Manager > Hardware Wizard instead of launching the setup.exe file... if this driver doesn't work, please attach and Everest report:

This driver you are talking about is the same that musksnipe gave to me. It won't work because it is High Definition Driver but my sound card isn't that.

Then i'm gonna try to open my case. You will have news from me

I opened my case but i only found the model of my PCI Card. About the ID: Everest says the ID is : 08/03/2005-Grantsdale-6A79DFK9C-00

I've been searching that already, as well as the Foxconn model. Foxconn keeps pointing me to HD drivers and the Grantsdale has led me to several different ADI drivers.

If you post a full Everest Report (do it this way). It may give us some more clues.

When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

I am still getting the same info that you posted before. (Sorry for the extra work, but we may still find some clue yet)

One thing I noticed is that Everest IS showing the ADI driver that I suggested as being installed.
Check in your Device Manager>Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. Is it actually installed?
Also look in Control Panel>Sounds and Audio, click the Audio tab and check that that is chosen as your default Device.

This driver is a multi-codec driver for the AC'97. I searched for the data sheets on your audio controller (Intel 82801FBM ICH6) and it uses AC'97 2.3 codecs and the driver below is 2.2, but may work.
(Don't install it yet. Let's make sure the ADI driver just isn't configured wrong first)
    http://ac97-audio-codec.en.softonic.com/

This is the problem with not having a positive motherboard ID.
ALL these drivers use the AC'97 codec.

Edit: You might also want to make sure that your Windows updates are complete. They may contain the driver you need.
If not complete, then get fully updated, uninstall your audio, then shut down, reboot and see if Windows finds your driver.

Not sure I understand. By "setup", do you mean the audio driver setup? Which one?
Did you do the full Windows update?

    Did you check these things?

According to the Everest report, you have AD1888 audio. I found two drivers; one at the Dell web site: http://support.euro.dell.com/suppor...-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=3&fileid=135650
...and one at the Intel web site: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=2773&DwnldID=13365&lang=eng
Yes, I know you don't have a DellPC, but the driver might work. Personally, I'd try the one from the Intel site first.... try to install as I suggested earlier, by using the Device Manager and the Hardware Wizard, click Have Disk and point it to the extracted driver (extract the downloaded files with TUGzip or WinRAR or 7zip). Using the setup.exe files will probably not work, as the drivers were written for different PCs, but I have installed many drivers for different PCs by using the "have disk" method.... Good Luck!

I already suggested an AD1888 driver, but he still didn't have sound.
After talking with him, via Messenger, he updated to SP3, and also went into his BIOS and set the option from Azalia (HD audio) to AC'97.
I'm waiting on a response now, to find out if this has done the trick.

 I looked through the different replies and I guess I missed it. My bad. But sometimes having different drivers can help.... ;)
