    Hi there,

I have a C drive, a D drive, an E drive (cd/dvd rom) and a removable F drive but I do not have a G drive and yet there has been one listed in 'my computer' for a few months now!

How can I figure out what this G drive is and what it is doing there? any advice/tips are ultra appreciated!

    Thank you!:confused

Camera? IPod? any other USB devices you've used lately?

Actually I do have a new camera but it is currently unplugged and it is still listed. Should I assume that thats all it is?

    2) I have another question related to my my computer fan. The thing has been roaring like a jet plane since the summer. I am currently in a very cool location. Is there any way for me to definitively identify why the fan has gotten so loud?

A friend of mine told me to get some compressed air and blow the dust out, which I did this morning but it is as loud as ever.

    Thanks for any help!!:major

We talking a desktop? If so, they are easy to replace ...just four screws.

The G drive is no doubt from the camera ....it will remain even if the camera is unplugged. Not a problem.

So the loud fan would be considered a malfunction and should be replaced I take it? I believe it is a standard desk top fan. I have a dell dimension 5100 and this is the fan that came with it, so it is a few years old.

Can you recommend a good fan to replace it with (It is currently so loud I have to leave the room when I get phone calls)?

Thanks so much, these forums are a god send!

The fan itself should have a product number on it ....but basically any fan the is the right dimensions and has the same rpm's would do ...local computer shops should have one.

Your mysterious drive is more than likely a 'virtual drive' put there by a 'burning' program like Nero, Alcohol or Roxio. Does it a CD/DVD type icon?
