I don't have one

    I was looking through Windows XP Home's Device Manager today and I noticed something called the D346PRT SCSI Controller. It is a SCSI/Raid Controller, but I don't have a raid setup.

    just because you don't have a raid setup doesn't mean the controllers aren't installed. i don't have a raid setup but my onboard controllers are installed and showing in the dev man.

    Go into your BIOS (usually pressing delete when starting your computer) and look for the RAID setup and disable it if your not using it and you will not see it anymore. If your unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the BIOS, leave it be, nothing is harmed here.

    Thanks. The reason i said anything is that it just popped up a recently. But something happened with my BIOS the other day when I turned it on, so thats probably what happened.

    If you would like to install RAID setup you can go into your BIOS change the boot sequence to boot from your CD ROM first then slip your windows XP CD in and restart your computer, if you want to install RAID hit F5 when prompted (first screen) I have never done this but i know this is one way to do it having installed XP soooo many times.

    I had the same thing turn up after I installed Virtual Daemon. If you have installed a drive emulator program like Virtual Daemon or Alcohol 120%, the virtual drives are set up on a SCSI controller.
