I.E. Problems and MSN crashes

Hi,

I've recently been posting in the malware section and chaslng has been fantastic.

He asked me to post here to get help with software issues I have.

So, basically,

I.E. keeps crashing, esp when I;m reading emails in hotmail,

Firefox seems less stable as well

MSN/live messenger problems, initially when I turn the pc on and log into Messenger everything is OK. However once the messenger icon goes into my task bar, at times when I move my mouse over the msn icon in the task bar to open, msn logs me out.

I'll then try to log in again, and double click on the msn shortcut on my desktop. Msn then appears in my task bar, and once again when I try to open as soon as my mouse goes anywhere near the msn icon with an x through it , t closes!

I'm also having problems with HP update, the service just doesnt connect.

Someone mentioned all my problems may be related to a program called "Software Distribution Service 3.0" which installs itself on my machine.

Try a system Restore in safe mode back to pre trouble times.?....but make sure you turn off Automatic Updates first. Your best bet would be to contact Microsoft by email and they will email you back instuctions on how to remove this program. It was installed by Microsoft Automatic Updates.

 

SO are the problems definitely related to that piece of software?

 

It could be but the "Software Distribution Service 3.0" was a Microsoft update in Jan 08 so it took a long time for your computor to have problems but I would remove it and hopefuly it will sove your problem.

 

I've uninstalled the program and disabled auto updates, however still experiencing the same problems.

Help!
