i have a freind who had some problems with his hard drive(he got a ton of adware and couple of minor trojans) rather then fix it he bought a new one and gave me the old one.this is where it gets fun!I want to add it as my master and slave my old hard drive for size reasons well even to slave it would be ok.
I installed it to my pc then booted it with my windows disk and reformated it just to start fresh!well the problem i am haveing is it will not install windows as it is copying the files needed for the install it stops says it cannot copy a file and well from then on it want copy any after this point? The file it stops at is regopt:.chm and then everything that follows i get the same cannot install?

ANYONE! have any ideas this drive is only about 1 year ols it is a maxon 40 something or another 80 gig i can get specific part #if needed it is also at this time the only HD installed on my pc as i was trouble shooting the common issues of pc confusion.

also when i try to boot straight to the disk it gives me the cannot boot because the NTLDR is missing? i have been booting from my rom with windows disk in it?
I am lost and not into trowing things away if they are not broke!

CAN ANYONE HELP A DEFENSLESS PC NUT?

It will be one of three things, all three has happened to me. Bad disc[burnt copy], reader wont read that file, bad stick of memory. ed
