I got a job and have been working all week.

I'm so tired right now. I got that job I applied for at FactoryDirect.ca. I'm being trained as the new tech guy. There's lots of stuff I have to learn. It's a new store that's really understaffed right now so I've been working with the customers on the floor and selling things more than doing tech stuff.

I didn't think my body would be able to handle a 40 hour week after being sick and not working for 5 years, but I survived.

Finally I've got some free time to talk to the geeks.

 

Congratulations Colonel. First week on any new job is tough. Should get easier as you go. Glad you got it, and glad you made it.

 

hang in there buddy, first week is always a bummer, but it will get better.

 

I was a train wreck the whole first month of my current job.
But yeah, it gets better as everything becomes routine.

Congrats ColonelAngus. I haven't worked since '92 due disability. I know the frustration you must have felt over those five years. Hey, now folk at the store will get some informative answers! Hang in there.

Glad to hear you got the job Colonel, and are back to the nine to five routine. Betcha its great to be back in the loop again, though I'll bet this first week has been a bit of a shock to the old system, but a heck of a lot better than being sick. I worked for eight and a half hours last night (saturday) too. It was from 6:00pm til' 2:30am. I felt so bad when I got there that I was breaking out in cold sweats! I got through it though. I'm so tired right now.

Everyone had to be at the store to do the quarterly inventory count. Everything in the store needed to be counted and recounted. Some people had worked 14 hours straight!

I'm glad it's over for this week. I get to sleep all day now.

 

Inventory is the worst, plus those late night hours take a toll no matter what shape your in, sweet dreams.

 

Congrats on the job!! You'll fall into a groove before you know it!!
