Ok........this is my first post here on this site. I have a problem about my Joystick/midi brackett for my creative labs SB audigy X gamer card.

The actuall Sound card itself works great , but last wekk , i tore apart my computer to clean it out. I removed some of the cards from the computer and took my air compressor and blew out the inside of my computer. As i was doing this , my room mates dog a "Jack russel terrior" decided to grab the small Joystick/midi brackett and used it as a chewy!! I have contacted Creative labs , but haven't got a responces from them yet. I am willing to buy the dang thing from them too , but i need my gameport for all my games i play. I use the MS sidewinder gamepad on almost all my stuff.

My motherboard (soyo ultra dragon KT333) board comes with a gameport on board , but i can't get the dang thing to recognize any of my gamepads. this was a HUGE disscussion on this GAMEPRT/WIN XP thing and about how gameport devices we're not supported my XP , and without me knowing about this , mine worked perfectly fine for over two years without a glitch!

Soooo....now , i have a gameport on my motherboard that doesn't seem to detect anything i plug into it. Any my other gameport/joystick/midi bracket is on my kitchen counter , and the other half of it , will probably be found in the back lawn sometime in the next few weeks!

    Any advice here guys?

oh yeah.i almost forgot. i do have an older sound blaster card which isn't to bad of a card really. Is there a way for me to run DUAL sound cards in the computer? If possible , i could run my top end X gamer live card for my sound and maybe enable just the gameport on my other one? would this be possible?

Might be possible in your bios setup. It is in mine, as a seperate thing from the built in sound. Look in your bios for gameport, and enable it and see. You might need to disable the gameport in your Soundblaster setup also.

Another possibility might be to use a USB port, if your gamepad is USB capable.

easy way, less hassle and cheaper in the long run is to buy a usb joystick.
