I have a question on the current version of Sysinternals Autoruns

Discussion in 'Software' started by conceptualclarity, May 24, 2013.

  1. Does the current version of Sysinternals Autoruns allow one to disable rather than delete a program? I read a review from a couple of years ago saying there was only a delete option.

Unchecking the box disables the entry - safest for troubleshooting, if it's not the correct fix, just re-check the box and reboot.

Right-click the entry and select Delete - that will remove the entry completely. On reboot, you could then manually remove/rename the 'bad' driver or file safely, as it's no longer loaded.

(It's been like that for a looong time.)
