i have a signal but no internet

ok here is the problem

i have a vista as the main pc it has my isp router on it

the other pc has a nic card realtek rtl8185 and its wireless signal that on xp

its all comes on both signals one for the wireless one for the card

but there is no internet what so ever or msn anything

but when my auntie comes around with her laptop with exactly the same settings she gets internet firefox works msn works but her laptop is on vista

that what i dont understand its on but nothing is there :confused

The first thing to look at is whether the driver has corrupted in your wireless adapter.
Navagate
start >R clk My Comuter > select properties > slect hardware tab > select device manager button > scroll down to network adapters and see if there is any X or ! or Unknown objects

If so, post back with the make and model of your computer and what operating system is being used.

 

are you running any kind of software firewall, besides windows firewall?

 

i have no firewall on it

 

i have no x or !

the pc is windows xp
the make is custom built so it doesnt have a make or model

but to further looking around in properties on the wireless connection there is no gateway on the xp pc so how do i get one thanks again
