    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Do follow the below guide step by step as it will be the best route for you to take, especially as our malware experts know exactly what sort of postition your PC will be in once its run so makes the job of malware removals that small bit easier. Also as its a guide designed inhouse we are in a good position to assist you with the steps if needed, but you shoudl find them ok, just go slow and do one step at a time, tick them off and continue to next.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    Hello, shiangel

Do you recognize the following folders? What are they?
    Code:
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\2C6D
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\1F3B9
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\26138
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\32213
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\E4E

Use of P2P (Peer to Peer) file sharing programs

First, please disable any antivirus and/or antispyware programs you have installed so they will not block this fix. (Remember to enable them again when this steps are completed.) Print out these instructions or save them to a text file so as All Browser Windows must be CLOSED. *The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for issue(s) on this machine. Second, do not install any software during this cleaning procedure unless instructed.

    Step 1:
If you have not already done so, please disable the Guest account in User accounts.

    Step 2:
Please look in Add/Remove Programs for the following and uninstall if found. If you get any errors just make a note and proceed

    Step 3:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Step 4:
Next, navigate to the following folder and delete it. *Pay very close attention to it's name... it is not C:\Program Files\Common Files.

    Delete this folder only ---> C:\Program Files\Common

    Step 5:
    Run Ccleaner

    Step 6:
Now install the latest Sun Java Runtime Environment

    Step 7:
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Then attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip

Make sure you tell me if you had any problems running this procedure and give a description of how things are working now!

    Thanks!

Ok so I don't recognize any of the files you posted. I can't figure what they are. Do you think they are some thing bad? I did do everything you asked and my computer seems to be working much better, the boot up is much much quicker! And the common file is not popping up any more so that seems to be a gonner! :D You rock! I so far have not seen any negatives. So I can only hope it all keeps running well. Thank you. Oh and Iam attached the logs for you.

    Hello again, shiangel

A couple of the HijackThis lines did not get fixed... make sure that you select each of the following entries when you run analyse.exe.

    Step 1:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
After clicking [ Fix ], exit HJT.

    Step 2:
Now we need to use ComboFix to remove some malware.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. *Remember to re-start them before coming back online.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    FolderLook::
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\2C6D
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\1F3B9
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\26138
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\32213
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\E4E

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run]
    "QuickTime Task"=-
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Step 3:
    Run Ccleaner

    Step 4:
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Then attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • C:\combofix.txt

Make sure you tell me if you had any problems running this procedure and give a description of how things are working now!

    Thanks!
    dr.m
