I have had a headache of the last few days.

First off my computer was having problems and kept blowing a fuse, so i ordered new parts a new mobo and power supply (cheapish ones) because i knew it had to be one or the other. So Friday evening i ordered and paid for next day delivery £9.50 the weekend came and went then Monday and finally today Tuesday they arrive, some express delivery eh?

So now to rebuild, now i have not needed a new PSU for a looong time so when i looked at the power fitting for the pentium mobo it was to big ARRRGGG (now i know you are all laughing because you know the plug will fit) an hour later i checked again and noticed that it breaks into 2 plugs and did fit so i throw the mobo the parts the PSU together and nothing happens..WTF by now i am grey because i have gone cold turkey without the internet for longer than i have ever gone, i was not a pretty sight..

So i rechecked everything still nothing now i was off to my friends to use her comp for an RMA form believing it was the parts, but my wife asked me had i checked the fuse since the old PSU had blew it?? so i change the fuse and yess at last it worked..

I was close to taking a valium.

Now to get the HDD Led working but main thing is all is ok..

Now to catch up on emails and this place..

Ahh...wondered where you disappeared too....not surprised it took a woman to point out the obvious.....LMAO..J/K Phil! It did give me a giggle though...I wouldn't want to even take a guess at how many times we have all been pulling our hair troubleshooting a system only to find out it was some simple little thing

LOL..my PC shut off a few weeks back unexpectedly. First thing I checked was the fuse ......and it was !

 

Hehe Abby the women of a house is always right anyway, i learnt this many years ago and 3 burst ear drums later.

It is nice to be posting again, its amazing how easy it is to get frustrated being away from the computer.

The new PSU is nice and quiet makes a change from the old one (neighbours always complained it kept their baby awake hmm. J/K

I'm not to happy with new mobo but cash being tight it is new and will do. (well orders from the wife went something along those lines haha.)

if you know the HDD light is on the right posts then it's probably on backwards. The olored wire should go on the positive pin for the light
not having all the lights work on the front is something that drives me nuts

 

Thanx Fw appreciated, agreed it drives me nuts also, i now have the HDD led working the reset switch is fine speakers so on except my Green led, were i am confused is the last wire to fit is that there is only 2 prongs left to fit a 3 pronged plug, there is a wire in the first slot the centre is empty and the third has the second wire, now how to fit this on the final 2 prongs?
