I have never seen this happen before... no video.

I am working on a computer for a friend in turn he is making me some stickers for my truck and well i am lost. I can't find the problem i think it has something to do with the caps on the board swelling up. He said he has always had a problem with it from day one and thats when sometimes its turned on the monitor won't come on but if he switched it off and on it would work after doing that for while. Well it quit working when you turn it on you hear the HDD's and the fans spinning but the monitor don't come on. So now i have it and i can't get it to switch on the monitor i have tried the on-board i put a PCI video card in it and a AGP but it still does the same thing. Is this board done like i think?:confused

the main board is a ECS Elitegroup K7SEM Rev 1.0
Power Win 300watt PSU
20gig IBM HDD

 

Just to make sure have you tried another monitor and/or cable to make sure that isnt the problem?

But even if you replace the PSU
Swollen caps = Soon to be Toast
If the Caps are Leaking, Your already too late

If you had a high end MOBO, one might think of replacing the Caps

 

Thanks that did not even cross my mind i will try swapping it out and see how it goes.

 

I just tried a Raidmax 400watt in it and still the same thing. I am guessing i was right and its the motherboard.

 

As stated above.... if the caps are popped, the board is toast....
