I've been under attack for two weeks.. I finally gave in and crashed it last weekend. My reinstall went well until downloading my printer. My software went not work. HP did send my new software --still no luck and my computer will not let me download the drivers I need on line> It either freezes or boots me out. (I was having printer problems before my crash-- it would not identify my printer and only reprinter before I made it to my desktop on reboot. I did find a weird file in my printer file like someone was using it before my crash) My computer also freezes and reboots randomly online leaving a redbar across the top of the web page. My NIS 2006 has malfunctioned several times after my reinstall stating my norton antivirus definitions are outof date. I have had to redownload approx 3 times. I even did a panda online scan and trojan hunter after an uninstall of my NIS to check my system-- it said clean. My adaware found hot search bar which I quarantined. I ran spybot after and it said clean. My window defender recently gave me an error messange that the user interface and my Ip address have caused an error. I also am getting an message on start up to reboot and select proper boot device. I did call the computer manufacturer and all my drivers are working perfectly. I really need help here as I'm at my wits end what to do next! Here is a HJT log . I really would appreciate any help offered. Thanks! Patti

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!:)

Please do not post any logs inline and HijackThis logs should not be posted without having run standard cleaning procedures in the sticky threads.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

We highly recommend uninstalling any version of Messenger Plus. It can be a major reason for having malware on your PC. It can even install a LOP infection. They all come in the 3rd party tools that can easily be installed by mistake. Software like this should not be trusted. For additional info, see: http://www.liutilities.com/products/...brary/msgplus/
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Look for the following entries in HJT and if still present AFTER completing the above, place a check in the box then click remove.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis - This should be a new log AFTER you have tried to remove the above quoted entries.
