hi i'm michelle,

i needed to find out about a couple of things but when i go on there for the virus forum it won't let me posts my own thread. is there a trick for this.


my problem is i have the personal edition anti-virus. i went to update and it keeps saying
error opening the internet file
and

the server name or address could not be resolved.

i can go on this site and just do an update but i don't know if it's going to my file personal anti-virus

sorry i'm so much trouble. i'm new at this. your help will be greatly appreciated and maybe i will find out how to use your forum too.

The Virus forum is information only - only the moderator can post there.
I'm not familiar with your anti-virus but if you can download the update from their web page then it should tell you what version or date release it is then when you run the anti-virus you should see the new version number or release date.

If you've got any problems with any software (which includes AV), you should post in the software forum to recieve help with your issue.

And to your question, it would help tremendously if you tell us exactly what personal edition you have. i.e. is it avast, antivir, or what? Also, what operating system do you have? i.e. windows xp, 2000, me, 98. Read the stickies in the software forum too, it will help us help you!
