I just thought of something..

I placed an order with DELL yesterday for an AXIM. I called up today to find out the oder status because the payment was listed incorrectly on my acknowlegement. While I was on the phone with several people from India I had to giggle at the commercials that DELL sports over here. You see some fat, balding, middle class white guy in bed calling DELL support at night and an American picks up. Infact, every DELL commercial where they represent their support they represent them as English speaking Americans with no foreign accents what so ever. Perhaps they should change their commercials to reflect accurately what the experince will be when you call support. lol, anyone care to make a parody?

On another note, aside from the communication barrier, they were quite polite, so I'll give them that. It just took longer to get what I needed.

That is typically an Anglicised version of her true name or a name she liked the sound of.

 

Reminds me of a guy I knew years ago who worked at a collection agency. They all used pseudonyms when they made their calls. He had a Mexican co-worker with a very heavy accent. His pseudonym? Frank Wilson.

 

There's two things you have to watch out for with Dell - they enforce their 'not responsible for typos in our ads' policy and you won't find out until you've been invoiced, and their shipping delays.

Axim's are a good PDA and well worth the price. As a consequence, demand can exceed supply which results in shipping delays. Anticipated delivery dates can be way off.

We bought many of them and haven't had a problem.

 

Well, the order didn't go through because of the mix up in payment method and I'm on the phone with the sales rep now. I'm not too put out because of it though. Stuff happens. Besides...he speaks English.
