I lose my regular start up program

    If I shut my pc off I lose my start programs that I'm used to. This old plain one comes on after about ten minutes. I have to go into system restore and pick a date about 10 days ago to get back my regular Internet E..my firefox....really anything I have been using for 2 years. someone shut my pc down when there was a warning ...that said...IF you shut down now you'll lose your settings...??help please..you guys are pretty knowledgable I had a pc guy in...he did something and got it back..but when I shut it down later it did the same old thing again..fastjanow:

    Hi

    What Windows version are you using?

    Could you explain this in more depth (even a screenshot of what you should be seeing and what you then see would be good), I guess start programs are the one that will run when you boot your PC, say for instance your Antivirus, Messenger, Firewall etc application?

    What is this "old plain one" that comes after 10mins?


    What Antivirus and security applications do you use, please name all of them that are currently installed?

    Do you use any PC cleaners, like CCleaner if so please name them?

    Hi Halo,sorry it took so long to get back,I was in hospital..windows vista..only new thing is this driver whiz but that was weeks ago.I bought it to get new drivers on my printer..it worked.I'm still afraid to shut it down it takes so long to get it right I have to go to restore point etc..the start-up page I get is the one that comes with the pc it's os system in this case vista and it's so plain there's nothing there my email is incredimail and it's in MY start=up page the one I created over time,putting everything I love my pc for. It's all gone my photo's on my startup. everything that I put on. fastjanow thanks Halo
