warm(er) weather & star..I miss the ocean & star...I miss my own comfy bed & star...uhmm..geee...I seem to be repeating myself a tad bit;) LOL

I've been in NY since the 21st of June. Had planned a trip up here to visit my family and it got pushed to an immediate visit due to another death in my family. *sigh* Other than that I have enjoyed my stay.:)

My grandchildren are growing like weeds:eek: my kids are still taller than me *grumble grumble* lol and my dads dog is still psychotic...LMAO Ahhh..it's been good to be here.:D

My dad (max) is a trip...he still carries on with his proprietorship of the Hub quite well!:D And my little *cough* (6' 3") brother is a never ending source of hilarity! He had me laughing so hard last night I choked. *cracking up*

Had planned on getting together with Tim, Jim, Jim & the rest of the locals like I usually do when I'm up here but I just haven't had the time too..been on the go every day or 'catching up' with family. Spent an evening chowing on pizza and wings from Uncle Sal's (my fav!) with my best friend and her kids. Wow! Have they grown up too! *thud*

Been spending a great deal of time with my mom at the nursing home too. She's doing much better than when I was last up here and even pulled a few pranks that had me in stitches!:D:D

Have popped in to check and see what is going on here at MajorGeeks but with limited time I didn't get to keep up but rather spent my time dealing with 'stuff' so I'll have to save the catching up on MG happenings when I get home and things wind down a bit.

I'll be flying back home to my sweetie Thursday..he says he's taking me out to dinner this weekend and I get Saturday at the beach to boot!:D Think he missed me?;):)

GT..sorry I never got the chance to call you back like I said I would. I've just been so tired in the evening but will give you a call once I get home a settled back in.

HOLY GOOD GAWD!!!! By the looks of your pics on the fishing trip...I would have NEVER guessed you to be old enough for grand children!!!!

Back off Star...I'm not trying to flirt!!!!

MMmmmm...that with an ICE cold beer in a frosted mug!!!! Hmmm...Be right back....

Whatever you do...keep star away from the sides of the road, don't want to get stuck again!!  And whatever does happen...DON'T TAKE THE BLAME FOR ANYTHING!!!!

Despite the unfortunate circumstances...sound like you are enjoying the vacation, but it is always nice to come HOME!!!!

I know you have been missed around these parts, so I'm sure Star misses you too!!!! I can call him and ask if you want!?!?

Even though you miss Star, it sounds like you are having a great time with family and friends.
You'll be together soon, and sounds like fun and some relaxation when you get home.

It's a home when she's here, just a house when she's gone. The volume of the emptiness is, at times, deafening. Besides just her presence, the thing I miss the most is her reassurance and calming words at the end of those days that go so wrong, I'd wish I never got out of bed. A couple more days, she'll be home and all will seem right in the world....

....until she wants to go shopping. :D

Yeah, I'm sure he missed you, although he probably didn't have much time to dwell on it until after the shuttle launch. If you HAD to be away, the pre-launch crazies was probably close to an optimum time for it, as he seems to get more totally involved than normal, if that's possible. Glad you've found things to smile about; going home for a funeral can be a depressing time.

NO problem and no hurry. Real world and real people take precedence, always. I'm just words on a screen and sometimes a voice in a phone. I'm not really real. :D Besides which, you handed me off to Chris, and we entertained each other (I think) for a while.

Thursday is chemo day again, so I'll likely be home and being lazy most of Friday (most of the weekend likely), if you get the itch to call then, although that's pretty soon after your return. Chris may want to monopolize your time for a while. And I wouldn't blame him. He's likely been going through withdrawal without you and seeing pink elephants roaming the house. Or maybe blonde elephants. Whatever. ;)

Or maybe he has an elephant fetish. :D

(BTW, I don't think any woman would be liked to remembered as an elephant, blond or otherwise. :) )

I guess I ought to update: Abby arrived home yesterday afternoon safe & sound, although the flight crew decided to let the plane sit on the end of the runway for about 30 minutes after landing with no explanation offered to the passengers. Considering it was US Airways, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. ;)

I'm sure she'll share more about her trip when she gets all unpacked and situated. We didn't get much time to get caught up as I was up at 0300 this am to head to work. But it's the weekend, so we'll have lots of time to share.

@Gott: Nice to see you drop in; hope things are well for you, and bring the cigars next time. ;)
