I need a dress =(

I do.. I need a dress... I've got a ball coming up, but I haven't got a purdy dress to wear =(
I've been shopping.. and internet browsing.. and shopping.. and internet browsing.. etc etc.. I can't find anything small enough

I managed before for the other Balls and Proms I've been to, due to luck and being a different dress size before.. But I have a slight issue now.. Nowhere sells size 6 (American 4?) I've been to high street shops.. and they don't sell anything... I've been to posh posh posh "ball gown shops" and and and

...nothing... ​

I mean there were some GORGEOUS dresses but they would need to be taken in and get really really damned expensive..

Any ideas people... I've got a month and a half? And need to wear it again for another "do" later in the year............

 

Hehe......so many would love to have your problem of being too small Hugga.

I have the same with my feet when I need bike boots and boots for the mountains/hunting etc. My feet are so small. I end up going to the youth's section and getting decent stuff at half the price. Have you thought about looking in the girls' sections? You may just find something you like..... HTH

 

I have a female cousin that is about 4 1/2 feet tall, and I remember she would get alot of her clothes here...

Hugga I feel your frustration. I'm tall and generally can't shop in stores...I have to make it or special order via tall womens catalogs to get the length I need along with the smaller size.

My suggestion would be this. If you can find something you really, really like and it's maybe just to long or a size to big get it and find someone who does alterations on the side out of their home. They don't charge the big bucks like those that have store fronts. Check with your friends and others you go to school with...I bet you could find someone who has a mother, aunt, grandmother etc. who sews and would be willing to help you out for free or a very small fee. I can't even begin to tell you how many alterations I did for friends and acquaintances of my kids when they were in school...and no, I didn't charge them...I just liked helping out where I could.

Final note..if you've gone to the posh dress shops...I don't know how they do things where you are but here if you buy something in one of those ritzy stores any needed alterations are done at no extra charge by someone they have on staff...I'd look into that also.

I have been looking at kids dresses Lol..
Maybe I'll find something... I will probably get a dress altered to fit, it's just a bit of a waste, costing around 30 pounds, and taking in a good size or two... But.. if it's the only way it's the only way =p
