I need advice please..

I recently bought an Asus K53 notebook,I upgraded the ram to 8 by adding one 4 mb stick.Friends at my work place tell me to upgrade my intel core i5 to a core i7 processor.Is this upgrade cost effective? I am unsure of what improvments there will be in the performance of my laptop.All coments are

FTF can you even upgrade to the i7? Will the mb on the lap top allow it? Second off what are you actually doing with this computer? Unless your trying to play the latest and greatest games on it then you just dumping at least a few hundred dollars down the drain. For normal things like web usage and media center usage the i5 should be plenty enough. Heck most games run well off of a quad core i5...

 

I agree with slipknot. Even if you wanted to upgrade the CPU it would likely void the PC's warranty as an unauthorized modification.
