I need Help

You guyz i really need ur help....I cant seem to find out a way of doing somethng.....See I just bouthgt another HDD cuzz the old one just kicked back...and died....and i had shitloads of stuff on it....and my dad got pissed at me for no apparent reason...and we bought two HDDS the first one is a 40gig and the second on is a 120...i wanna know how to transfer every single file including the OS to the second HDD...so for example the 40 dies out...and I just boot up with my 120 and I have everything in there....pLELAASE HELP ME i also waanna be able to just for exaple save a file...and it will save in bOth place...

 

You're knocking your head against a hard wall if you think you're going to have two identical OSes on two drives on your machine, and copy every single change that happens in the working drive and OS to the second HD every time, every day.

BUT, there's an easier way to do what you need. Get a good Drive Imaging utility, set up your main drive with the OS and sware, then make images of the main HD to the second HD early and often.

Then if your main HD dies, you trash it, put in a new one and format it, and then use the restore program that comes with your Imaging program to re-create the old sys (all the sware and the OS) on the new HD. If all goes well (and it's supposed to, but everything can fail, so keep more than one image handy), you'll be back up and running exactly as you were in no time.

 

Oh, ... I like Acronis TrueImage, and it saved my butt completely when I lost a main HD last year. I had made an image 2 days earlier, and the Acronis bootable CD took over and put the whole shooting match on the replacement HD, so all I had to do was switch back to a C: boot and I was good as gold.
