    • Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT
    • Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file.
    • Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.
    • Run HijackThis and save your log file.
    • Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Please pay close attention to what I post, Your HJT is WAY out dated.

    First:
Please update to Hijack This 1.99.1

    Second:
Now, extract Hijack This from the downloaded .zip file into its on Safe Location. For example, C:\Program Files\Hijack This

    • C:\UNZIPPED\HIJACKTHIS[1]\HIJACKTHIS.EXE
    Third:
Please close ALL browsers while running HJT.
    • C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE

Now, do all of the above and post a fresh HJT log.

Are you familiar with these entries? If so, leave them as is!

Also, your log looks good to me, what problems are you currently experiencing?

that is my DSL connections. I think the computer is clean, but after I ran ccleaner I rebooted and I now have all these messages coming up that says missing .dll's. I have one that stays on all the time. I think it is left over from Microsoft office finance that has been taken off the computer but it come up with a payment reminder then says it can't findfileaxs.dll. I am having to use another computer because that window keeps poping up. Cool I am in Alabama too

Are the actually pop up errors or before windows load they show in a black screen?

The file gsheft99.exe is suspicious and unknown.

The file qwdlls.exe is part of the Quicken Launch Utility.

The file fileaxs.dll is part of Microsoft Money 97'

To remove these errors, navigate to the below folder:

Click Start > Programs > Startup

Note: Remove anything relating to the above files.

Reboot and see if problem remains!

I fixed it, the programs were uninstalled but were still in the start up. I went to msconfig and just unclicked them and now they are not popping up. Is there anything else I need to do or can do. Shouldn't after programs are removed shouldn't they be removed from the start up menu? Thanks
