I'm the "webmaster" of my church's jr. high website, and I have a java script scroller on the main page that give the latest news. Well, I must have accidentally deleted something, b/c its not scrolling anymore. Can someone dig through this and see if there is something missing?

Hey Ace... the code that you included here is not the entire page, am I right? I mean, this is included code or it is the referred to script to run the code within another page... right? With that assumption, I'd say that the problem most likely lies within the host page and not the script that you included... but I'm going to look at it, anyway...

If there is another page, can you drop that one in, too, please?

    Thanks..

you are correct spaz, that is just the code. however, the code is only contained in that one spot on the page. its weird, it was working one day, and then it quit. I'm thinking it may have to do something with the host provider, because I copied known working js last night from my machine to the index.html where the code is listed and it still did not work. If you are still interested, the script is on http://www.sunnybrookedge.com. It should be above the "rotating" pictures in the middle of the page.

    thanks for checking it out.

    Hi again, Ace...
Just have a couple mins, but saw your reply.
The scroller I used in an app. I wrote a couple of years ago was similar to yours, but I popped it in there as an include, rather than all within the code. The reason I bring this up is that there would have to be a reference in the code that called the scroller. If it's all within the code, then there may be some code, either before or after the actual scroller javascript, that is vital to the scroller actually running. This is the code that I'm thinking may have become corrupted.

However, from what you write, it may be possible that the server the code is running on will no longer run the script... but I am at a loss as to why that may happen... functionaly js code typically runs in any environment that will serve up html pages... <argh>.... /ponder

Ok, I'm going to copy the code from the site and see if it will run on my server, here at home... will get back at cha.

Sorry, Ace... I had to leave town for a few days, but I received some code from my old job that will help try to diagnose it. Baffled me so far, but I'm going to look at it again today.

    I got it workin

It's having a problem with the quotes in message two. Take them out and it works. Replace them with double apostrophes.

Man, helping people makes me feel all good inside... maybe I should do it more often...
